Soon To Be- Saint Patrick's Day

March 17 celebrates the Irish American Tradition of St. Patricks Day. More celebrated in America that Ireland this holiday is our ( Irish Americans ) day to relish our heritage. Saint Patrick's Day (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig) is a religious holiday on the 17th of March. It is named after Saint Patrick (circa AD 387–461), the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland. It began as a purely Catholic holiday and became an official feast day in the early 17th century. It has gradually become more of a secular celebration of Ireland's culture.

Yes I copied and pasted from Wikipedia. Deal with it ... I am a busy dude.

As a second generation Irish American I revel in the celebrations. As a bartender for many years, I raked in the spoils of the Holiday. ( record daily income $1100.00) As a Chef I enjoyed my most memorable occasions serving my guests the traditional American Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. Boiled potatoes, carrots, cabbage Irish Soda Bread and the cured goodness that is Corned Beef became a specialty. I ask that you all stay tuned or check back for the perfect Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. I have recently had a request from a good friend to replicate last year's going away party/St Patty's Day dinner. ( you can visit earlier posts for a preview) I promise good direction, good laughs, and good reading.

I sign off IrishNomad - Wandering this land in search of the perfect Saint Patrick's Day meal. To my pal Meg I say .... watch and learn. I asked Meg to allow me a week or two.I will do my best to post this weekend.
